Thomas

Thomas, the fifth son of William and Margaret Lothian, went to California with his sister Mary Jane Rowan, in the 1870s. He is believed to have assisted his niece, Retta Rowan, in furthering her musical education. Uncle Tom died at Fort Bragg, California in 1899, as the result of an accident sustained in the lumber industry in which he was engaged,

Margaret

Margaret died in childhood.

Clementina

Clementina was a favourite sister of my father. She lived only to the age of 12.

Of my grandfather Williams family of eleven children, only Harper, Mary Jane, and William had male heirs. Only William Fergus, and his son William Robert James, survive to bear the name Lothian.
